AAC Now Offers 100% Recycled Wristband Boxes

Queensland, November 18^th, 2021:  AAC now offers 100% Recycled Wristband Boxes

AAC is excited to share that we have converted our Tyvek wristband packaging to 100% recycled materials.  Using cardboard that’s FSC certified and produced with post-consumer materials, our boxes have been redesigned with sustainability at the forefront.  While we’ve always offered packaging that’s recyclable, we can now play a significant part in closing the sustainability loop. 

Sustainability is more than a buzz word here at AAC.  Over the past few years, we’ve taken considerable steps to reduce our carbon footprint and continue to make improvements every day.  In 2020, we used downtime due to Covid to perform a sustainability audit.  Below are a few projects we implemented as a result of our findings:

• Redesigning our wristband packaging to reduce empty space.  Our packaging now uses less raw material whilst remaining integrity throughout the supply chain.  A win-win for both our business and the customer. 
• We converted to a paperless office and haven’t looked back! Not only is this good for the environment, it also has considerable cost benefits as we reduced the amount of paper we needed to purchase.
• Identified energy deficiencies within our manufacturing machinery and processes.  Specifically, we upgraded machine parts to make operating them more energy efficient.  Coupled with improved processes, we reduced bottlenecks, streamlined our production process and reduced waste.
• Replaced all factory and warehouse floor lighting with energy efficient LED bulbs.  This had an added effect of improving the luminosity for our employees, reducing potential safety issues and fatigue.
• Increasing our product selection to include more eco-friendly options that help reduce plastics and other landfill waste.  We can now help our customers achieve their own sustainability goals.
• Finally, we walk the walk by living our commitment to the environment with everyday actions such as turning off lights and air-conditioning in unoccupied rooms and make conscience decisions to reduce waste.
