Insiders Guide to Wristbands in 2016

AAC Wristbands has been in the wristband industry for almost 20 years. Some of you reading this were not even born when we began selling wristbands throughout Australia… now that makes us feel very old! During that time we have seen changes galore, and 2016 is shaping up to be no different. Whilst the basics of wristband usage have remained the same, and Tyvek Wristbands remain the the undisputed favourite of the majority of our customers, barcoded and RFID wristbands are now growing in popularity. But why? Keep reading to learn more from our insiders guide to wristbands 2016!

Barcoded and RFID wristbands

Barcoded and RFID wristbands allow for greater automation when it comes to access control at events and venues. With the corresponding systems, a simple scan can provide a wealth of data for the event or venue using it. Not an unrelated fact: scanning systems and applications have become much more cost effective in 2016. There are more than half a dozen company’s now offering applications that allow for barcode and RFID scanning. And as we all know, competition yields lower costs!

Tyvek Wristbands still going strong

So, while we are seeing growth in these areas, we have also seen continued growth in the use of good old Tyvek Wristbands! AAC actually manufactured 10% more Tyvek wristbands in 2016 (to date) than we did in 2015 over the same period. We feel this is because more and more events venues, schools  nightclubs etc are keen to purchase a locally made product rather than Tyvek Wristbands made offshore. And when it comes to locally made, only AAC is relevant in the wristband industry.

AAC has been manufacturing Tyvek wristbands from scratch for almost a decade, producing close to 20,000,000 wristbands every year for use all over Australia. We are pretty confident that you have worn a wristband made by AAC at some point in your life!
